Privacy Policy

Effective October 9, 2026. Short, because we collect almost nothing.

SideDoorSites is a static website. It has no user accounts, no comment system, and no need to know who you are.

What we collect

  • Nothing you type: there is no changelog to subscribe to and no sign-up field anywhere on the site, so no email address is stored. A sign-up box that once sat at the foot of these pages was never connected to a sender; it stored nothing and has been removed. Reading the site asks you for nothing.
  • Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs — IP address, user agent, pages requested — for operations and abuse prevention, as hosting infrastructure does.
  • Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies, and, if allowed, Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, the referring site, approximate city and country, device and browser type, and session timing. Details in the next section.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google LLC, or Google Ireland Ltd. for users in Europe. It does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled, so the data is not used for advertising, and it is not sold.

  • Cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, first-party, lifetime up to two years. Set only after analytics is allowed; deleted if you decline later.
  • Europe: if your device's time zone is in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a banner asks first. Nothing is sent to Google unless you choose Accept.
  • Everywhere else: on by default; switch it off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal counts as an opt-out.
  • Where your choice is kept: local storage, key analytics-consent. Not a cookie.
  • Changing it: cookie settings reopens the banner. Reference: the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

What we do with it

There is no changelog mailing list, so no changelog email is ever sent. With no list, there is nothing to sell, rent or trade. There is nothing to unsubscribe from.

Third parties

Outbound links, including /go/ redirects, take you to sites with their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read in the same spirit we read vendor documentation. The commercial side of those links is documented in the affiliate disclosure.
